Why full Audio
Restoration? The specialised service offered has the sole purpose of providing the
benefits of high quality restoration and transfer to CD-R of your media. What's the difference between converting and transferring an LP to CD and
full Audio Restoration? Easiest way is to spend a few minutes listening to it.
This Jazz track was restored from a mid-1950s' LP in reasonable condition. The
track moves from the original to restored about every 36 seconds. (May take a few seconds to load) This comment from David K. probably sums the Service up better than I can? Hello Mick,
Just a note to say that I’ve now had chance to listen properly to the remaining
two CD’s and I am very happy with the results. I know you don’t post
testimonials on your site but I will certainly recommend your services to anyone
who needs audio restoration work done. Your knowledge of the subject matter is
certainly re-assuring and gives confidence that the best quality product will
result from your work. I would not have believed it possible to completely
remove all the noise and crackles etc. and still preserve all the musical
content but you have certainly managed that for me!
Thanks again,
Best wishes
David.
Every Project is optimised independently to suit
its particular needs. The sole aim of the service is to provide high quality
restoration - there are no lower level, cheaper alternatves offered.
If your media is precious to you - why would you want to compromise?
Think the condition of your media is well past its "sell by date"? All formats, including CD, have their problems and it's fair to say that
some were in fact present when they were manufactured, others have been
introduced by general wear and tear over time and some by natural ageing.
Specialised full Audio Restoration can at worst, improve on the original source
material and at best produce a sound of commercial CD quality. What does it cost?
Initially the cost of the return postage of your media -
YOU TRY BEFORE BUY!!! - for the cost of
return postage. - After the initial enquiry.
- You send your media and include return postage.
- Your media is assessed and a sample before and after clip sent back to you for
approval.
- If you're not satisfied with the sample and don't wish to proceed with the
restoration - your media returned.
- If you wish to proceed then you will be advised of cost - based on charges
laid out below. At worst it costs you return postage to find out what
can be achieved with your media.
At best you have a high quality restoration on CD, at a very competitve price!!!
The Bad News? - is that to provide Audio Restoration to this high standard takes
time, so please allow at least a week for your Project.
The rates below apply to private collectors only, they do not apply to
material restored & prepared for re-issue or archiving purposes. For this type
of Project - please contact me to discuss after reading the brief notes at the
foot of this page..
VINYL - LP
Audio Restoration and Transfer of Vinyl LP Record to CD.
All LPs' are deep cleaned before transfer - it's the only way to recover all the
detail available in the recording. Secondly, I have no wish to damage my Stylii
unecessarily. If cleaning is an issue then please don't send the LP.
Full audio restoration to remove or reduce all faults within the tracks and
transferred to play as any other CD. What does it sound like?
Have a listen to some of the samples (either with tthe Player on the left of
this page or on the Vinyl Samples page).
Standard LP - £30.00
Non-Standard LP - £35.00.
(Non-Standard would be for example the K-Tel, Ronco and Golden Hour type of
Records, which have by design tried to put as much material onto the media as
possible and the quality has suffered as a result - more difficult to restore to
an acceptable level).
(Prices above do not include return postage by RM Special Delivery).
VINYL - EP/12" Single/45rpm.
Audio Restoration and Transfer of EP/45rpm Vinyl Record to CD. What does it sound like?

this page or on the Vinyl Samples page).

SHELLAC 78 rpm.

this page or on the 78 rpm Samples page). The price is fixed at £7.00/side with a minimum order of £14.00. (Prices above do not include return postage by RM Special Delivery).
Family Recordings - Although reasonable
results can be produced - I'm withdrawing the service for this type of Project
as I feel the time involved in restoration makes the cost prohibitive - sorry!!
(Commercial pressings on Acetate have
generally survived badly and the price of restoration may have to be assessed on
an individual basis per Track - restoration in some cases, due to the amount of
time involved, may not be economically viable and may have to be returned).
CASSETTE TAPE.
Commercial Cassette.
Full Audio Restoration and Transfer of Cassette Tape to CD. What does it sound like?
Have a listen to some of the samples (either with tthe Player on the left of
this page or on the Cassette Samples page).
Cassette Tapes can have many other faults apart from tape "hiss" such as various
types of dropouts, glitches, distortion, excessive mechanical based wow, poor
quality recordings, clicks and pops etc. Simply removing the hiss will have no
effect on these faults and will, in many cases, make them more noticeable.
The service offered will address all these faults - along with the tape hiss.
Print through, caused by long term storage can sometimes be reduced but not
always - depends on the severity, in relation to the wanted audio content of the
Cassette.
Final CD plays as any other with full track separation.
Commercially produced Cassettes generally fall into a small range of
lengths/sizes. Any sizes falling between the bands below should be priced to the
next higher band..
C-120 Tapes are much thinner than C-60 and usually present more problems, which

C-120 (on 2xCD-R) - £44.00.
(Minimum order value is £16.00). (Prices above do not include return postage by RM Special Delivery).

above).
See also the comments regarding faults in the "Commercial Cassette" section.
If the Cassette as been used previously, and recorded over, the original track
is not always completely erased. The residue can sometimes be removed/reduced..
